Dealing With
Relationships
Hi Everyone
This is an article i decided to write about dealing with relationships, relationship advice and
in the process offer my take on what constitutes a good relationship and what you can do to ensure a long lasting
relationship.
Introduction
Dealing with relationships offers relationship advice whether it's your husband, wife,
boyfriend or girlfriend can be a tricky business.
The simple fact is that we don't understand the opposite sex and yet we cannot live without them (Well rarely
anyway). Our brains are wired to think differently, we seldom share similar interests, we have differing points of
view on most matters and yet we are drawn to each other like moths to a flame.
What defines a good relationship?
There are differing views and advice on what constitutes a good relationship between 2 people, some
might say that a couple who have been together for X amount of years must have a good relationship, a couple who
never argue must have a good relationship or a couple who are together 24/7 must have a good relationship.
While these may be true there may be other reasons involved, remember you never
know what goes on behind closed doors. People are different and so are relationships, the only truth is that
having any success in Dealing with relationships is that it requires hard work by both
parties.
Think of a relationship being like a house, they both need to be built on solid foundations,
they both require quality materials and they both require continuous maintenance. If you leave a crack unattended,
it grows into a fatal flaw and both a house and relationship will collapse over time if
neglected.
What can you do to ensure a lasting relationship
Dealing with relationships, relationship advice also depends on how you enter into one.
One of the main reasons why the divorce rate is sky high or why so many relationships fail in their infancy is
because people rush into them.
We have all heard of couples getting married 2 weeks after they met, lo and behold a few months later they are
divorced, WHY?
Living with someone you don't really know is not easy, bad habit's, hidden aggression, a wondering eye,
unknown addictions these are all things you discover after spending allot of time with
someone.
Know the person their faults and strengths, what you like about them, what
you hate about them, are you truly in love with them and can you see
yourself living with this person.
Once these questions have been answered or the advice makes sense, you can move on and hopefully you have laid a
strong foundation for a long lasting relationship.
How do i nurture my relationship?
When you consider Dealing with relationships you have to expect to work hard at them. Always be honest with
your partner, trust is very important, take an active interest in their interests, spend quality time with your
partner and show them that you love them (A kiss, holding hands in public a stray smile).
Be supportive, try to look at things from your partners point of view before launching into a stupid argument,
these are all things which you should consider.
Obviously it's a two way street, don't tolerate a situation where your partner is
disrespectful towards you, abuses you in any way or just does not make any effort towards building a good
relationship.
Finally
When Dealing with relationships or relationship advice remember that the choice is yours,
do you want a serious relationship or are you just looking for companionship.
Don't rush into relationships this almost always leads to disappointment and remorse, be sure that you actually
know the person who you intend to share your life with.
Be prepared for the bad times as well, it's not all fun and games and most of all be mature in your decision
making. Taking relationship advice is not always easy, we all know better, but if your way is not working, some
good advice may be just what you need.
